Rwandan international volleyball referee Alphonse Ndayisaba has traveled to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to officiate at the 2025 FIVB Boys’ U19 Volleyball World Championship, scheduled for July 24–August 3, 2025.
Ndayisaba, regarded as Rwanda’s top volleyball referee, departed Kigali International Airport on July 21 for the tournament.
He is among four African referees selected to officiate at the World Championship, alongside Nasreddine Kouki (Tunisia), Mohamed Benjaloun (Morocco), and Nagla (Egypt).
The 2025 tournament will be the 19th edition of the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship and will take place in Uzbekistan from July 24 to August 3.
Africa will be represented by Tunisia, Egypt, and Algeria, each of which earned a podium finish at the 2024 Boys’ U18 African Nations Volleyball Championship in Tunisia.
Beyond his international duties, Ndayisaba serves as head of volleyball referees in Rwanda and works as an instructor.

Ndayisaba also officiated at the 2024 U17 World Championship in Bulgaria.
