Premier Super League – PSL 2020/2021 season set to kick-off this month, October. The PSL Chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza announced that the new campaign will commence this month. The season will start with the MTN 8 on Saturday, 17th October 2020. This will be followed by the new DSTV Premiership on Saturday, 24th October 2020.
MTN 8
The MTN 8 is the South African Football Cup Competition played by the top 8 at the end of the Premiership. SuperSport United who finished 6th in the recently concluded campaign holds the current MTN 8 title.
DSTV Premiership
New-launched DSTV Premiership is the top flight football competition in South Africa that houses 16 teams. Only less than a month ago, Mamelodi Sundowns won their tenth title finishing 2 points ahead of rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
“We are currently waiting for the new directives from the government. I would like to thank the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa, SAFA and our sponsors for their cooperation in this process,” Dr Khoza said.
