Oyono Nicolas
Oyono Nicolas delivered a spectacular 46-point performance to power Inspired Generation to a dramatic 96-94 overtime win against East African University of Rwanda (EAUR) in Game 2 of the Rwanda Basketball League Division 2 Finals, leveling the best-of-five series at 1-1.

The thrilling matchup took place on July 17 at Petit Stade, featuring two clubs already promoted to the top division.

Oyono, who also grabbed 10 rebounds before fouling out in the final minute of overtime, was the driving force behind Inspired Generation’s victory.

Samuel Asiribo dominated inside with 16 points and 27 rebounds, backing Oyono’s scoring heroics.

For EAUR, the Rwandan trio of Ben Ruben Cyiza Ndayishimiye (22 points), Fabrice Tuyizere (22), and Janvier Niyizibyose (23) combined for 67 of the team’s 94 points in a valiant effort.

Game 3 is set for July 23 at Petit Stade. Both Inspired Generation and EAUR have secured promotion to the Rwanda Basketball League, replacing Espoir BBC, who were relegated.

However, promotion comes with a financial requirement—each team must raise RWF 100 million to confirm their spot in Division 1.
