APR defeated REG 81-72 in Game 5 of the Rwanda Basketball League Playoff Finals to seal the 2025 championship with a 4-1 series victory. With the win, the army side will continue to represent Rwanda in the BAL for a third consecutive season.
On July 11 at BK Arena, APR Basketball Club defeated REG to clinch the Rwanda Basketball League title for a third consecutive season and a record 16th time.
The most decorated club in Rwandan basketball history sealed their dominance by winning three straight games in the best-of-seven finals, reaffirming their status as the country’s powerhouse and securing their place as Rwanda’s representative on the continental stage.
Senegalese center Youssoupha Ndoye scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes, earning Playoff MVP honors for his dominant title-clinching performance.
Ndoye’s decisive contribution in the 2025 championship game earned him the Playoff MVP award—one of the most prestigious accolades in Rwandan and African basketball.
Currently the BAL bronze medalists, APR will continue to carry Rwanda’s flag in the 2026 BAL season, which will feature the playoffs in Kigali.
